There are no respawns in Tactical Squad Simulator, only success and failure. You can always retry a mission after failure, but your enemies will not be predictable. Each mission will have objectives that determine success and failure, such as:

HOSTAGE RETRIEVAL - Extract the hostage from the terrorist camp and lead them to the extraction zone while keeping them alive and losing no more than 2 squadmates. 12 minute time limit.

Squads can replay their favorite missions whether ot not they succeed. Improve your score by reducing the time required, or by not losing any squadmates.
